About David Stodder
David Stodder is principal analyst, writer and researcher at his firm, Perceptive Information Strategies. For two decades, he has articulated next steps in the evolution of information management and business intelligence technology, practices and methods. He has experience as an industry analyst, editor, journalist and presenter. His passion is to use his experience and insight to enable professionals in business, IT, vendor, policy, education, investment and other fields to understand the advantages they seek to gain through improved use of information and work with them to articulate the best way to reach those objectives.
In addition to his work at Perceptive Information Strategies, Stodder is currently a research fellow with Ventana Research, where he served as vice president and research director from March 2007 to December 2008. As VP and research director, he concentrated on information management, business intelligence, data warehouse, operational intelligence (including event processing), IT performance management and business service management.
Stodder is editor-at-large with Intelligent Enterprise, where he publishes articles and blogs. He was the founding chief editor of Intelligent Enterprise and served as editorial director of the print and online editions through 2006. He wrote many articles, columns and other content, and continues to write articles and blogs for Intelligent Enterprise. Previous to IE, Stodder served as chief editor of Database Programming & Design magazine. He was also the founding editor of DB2 Magazine and has contributed to Network Computing, Teradata Magazine and other publications.
He is active in the industry as well through conferences, Webinars and other presentations. While at CMP, he served as editorial director of the Intelligent Enterprise Summit and Database Summit Series conferences, where he led program development and served as conference chair. He has participated in numerous other industry events, conferences and trade shows as a speaker, editorial contributor and member of conference planning committees.
